The Problem With Waiting For The Other Shoe To Drop!!

This is too good to be true.  Nothing this wonderful ever happens to me.  If it’s this good, something bad must be about to happen.  Does pain always have to follow pleasure?  Is there always some crap in the game?  What a horrible way to live.

I was waiting for the other shoe to drop!! Where does this saying come from?   What does it mean? Should we accept and live by this thought?

Here’s the history: A common experience of tenement living and other similar style housing in New York City (and other cities) during the manufacturing boom of the late 19th and early 20th century. Apartments were built similar in design with one’s bedroom under another’s. Thus, it was normal to hear a neighbor removing shoes and hearing them hit the floor above. As one shoe made a sound hitting the floor, the expectation for the other shoe to make a similar sound was created.

Many times when GOOD happens to us, we are somehow waiting for the other shoe to drop.  We are asking ourselves, “So when is the bad GONNA show up?”

STOP LIVING AND LOOKING FOR THE OTHER SHOE TO DROP!! Stop asking GOD to bless you, get it, and then worry about losing it!!

Here are a few mistakes in waiting for the other shoe to drop?

1.   Spending time waiting and looking for the other shoe to drop, robs, wastes, and forfeits the valuable time that should be spent on enjoying God’ blessings.

2.  Waiting for the other shoe to drop, suggest that God is not SOVEREIGN (TOTAL CONTROL).  God is not only the shoe maker, but HE is the controller of UPSTAIRS and falling shoes.

3.  Enjoy the moment and the blessing!! GOD is not only a GREAT PROVIDER, but also a GREAT PROTECTOR.  He will PREPARE a table before you in the presence of your enemies.

EAT UP AND ENJOY!!!!
