Here I am this morning, early enough to see few people and busy birds chirping and flying about. Looking out across the harbor, I see rows and rows of boats securely tied to the dock. No matter how large or small the boat, all are secured to the dock. Quickly, I notice the duality in question form. Is the boat tied and secured to the dock or is the dock holding on to the boat? In such a large community of boats, and if what monkeys see monkey do, then every boat including me, the innocent bystander would assume that boats are built for docking.
No, no, no!!! As beautiful and as peaceful as these boats seem, they are not built and purposed for docking but SAILING!!! As a matter of fact, let me go on record as saying, “If a boat ain’t boating, it’s merely floating!!” Now look at you!! Look Ma, I’m floating!! Existing, surviving, barely above water!! (Sorry, that fire took off fast! Let me slow it down.)
All the boats have names here. I heard it’s good luck. According to the Forest Gump movie, it should be the name of a lady but evidently that rule is been thrown overboard. (no pun intended). Ok, we are all boats, or yachts with names and should be seaworthy!!
Boats are built and shaped to cut through and ride the winds and the waves of the sea. He or she who never undocks and leaves the harbor will never be deemed seaworthy nor will they ever experience the phenomenal life of sailing the seas!!! Sailing requires faith and if there is no sailing there is no “Faithing!” God did not make you a sub!! Stop it!!
You are in either one or few positions. I would like to attempt to address them. You are a boat sailing, a boat temporarily docked or a boat that docked to die. Make a choice.
The purpose of the dock is possibly three fold. (1) To rest, restock and refuel, (2)Offer safety from the storm, or (3) Retire boats not seaworthy any longer.
If by chance you are docked temporarily, REGROUP, REFUEL, RESTOCK and get back to sailing. If by chance you’ve been wounded and and shell shocked by the storm of heartbreak, disappointment and pain, get REPAIRED AND ROLL OUT!!! SO WHAT YOU TOOK ON SOME WATER AND CAPSIZED!!! We all have gotten wet!! Some of us have been docked wayyyy too long. I know it almost killed you but shake it off and get back to sailing!! Your calling as a boat in God’s Harbor is not just to LOOK GOOD but to sail!!!
To us you are anonymous but to GOD you are obvious. YOU are hiding in the Harbor amongst other boats but God sees you. IT’S NOT TIME FOR YOU TO COME ASHORE!! WHEN IT’S TIME THE GREAT ADMIRAL IN THE SKY WILL SUMMON YOU. Get back out there Sailor and get some salt!!!
Committed to Living you
