Where it Starts and Stops

It all starts and end with you and God. That’s it and that’s all. No plus ones, no co-pilots, no assistants, no tag alongs and no day ones. Job clearly stated, “Naked “I” came out of my mother’s womb and naked shall “I” return. It’s a solo flight in and out. We all must stand before the judgment seat clearly calls for a single file line. No “ride or die” would even be remotely prepared or qualified to accept the punishment or blessings issued out on game day. Till death do us part voluntarily destroys the idea of a two man seat on the rollercoaster of Judgement day. One by one!! Single file, single file line!! The ticket man shouts out at the Pearly Gates.

I know we are relational beings created for fellowship and others, but some venues only accept one ticket per person. It’s Me not We!! It all starts and ends with you and God. A profound observation that I heard and hold on to states, “What if all of this is just a long, one on one walk with God? When HE is ready, he simply says, “Ok, let’s go!!” It would suggest that when we walk away to sin, he stops and waits until we repent, return and then the walk proceeds.

Sitting on this bench and looking across the ocean waters, I just think we ought to have our speech together and our lines memorized prior to the curtain being raised. All the intricate details HE already knows and the skin of conviction you’ve worn the entire time so……what do you say? Furthermore, by the time we get alone with HIM, shouldn’t we be well acquainted? I promise you, if on the day you stand before Him and you have to start the conversation with, “Hi, I’m Richard,” you are in big trouble. All this time you’ve been walking with and no talking?

Because it’s Sunday, I thought I’d offer you a few cheat questions that might be on the test. How about, What’s up? Whatcha been doing? Where you been? Who you been with? What did you do with the stuff I gave you? I left you a few messages, sent a few folks by to talk with you, you seen them? Why should I let you in? Whoa!! That’s a good one. Why should I let you in?
