I was listening to the radio and a song by Drake came on. It was called, “No new friends.” I interpreted this to mean, that he was not in the market for new friends, because the ones he had were “the bomb.” When you get the perfect group of friends, then you can sing, “No new friends.” After hearing that song, I said, “That’s some crap, I need some new friends!” Let me share with you how I came to this conclusion.
It was one of those days, when I possibly needed encouragement, a helping hand, a few dollars, a second
opinion, a listening ear, someone to laugh with, a lunch partner, or just someone who had my best interest in mind, and guess what? NOTHING. I called all my friends and nobody answered. The voicemail answered, and I left a messages. I am in need of some real friend assistance, but I am not getting any. I understand, people are busy and have their own problems, but I need a friend right now. I have friends that I can say certain things to, and we burst out in laughter. I needed to share, but I didn’t have time to give the background, and introduction to the situation. I needed to start in the middle of the story, fill it with bad grammar, slang, emotion, and the occasional curse word and get it out. Everybody has that day, stop tripping.
You don’t understand I reached for the FREIND PHONE. That is the equivalent of the Gotham City Bat Phone. The red glowing phone that was a direct line to Batman himself. When the Commissioner, Mayor, or Chief of Police, picked up the Bat phone, Batman knew it was an emergency.
I had an emergency and needed to talk to a friend.
I said, ” I need new friends,” because the ones I have are making a killing off me big time. I have friends who call me at all times of the day and night. They call for encouragement, a helping hand, a few dollars, a second
opinion, a listening ear, someone to laugh with, a lunch partner, or just someone who has their best interest in mind, AND I PICK UP OR CALL BACK.
So here is my observation, If your old friends don’t pick up or call back, get you some NEW FRIENDS. If they never have time, a few dollars, an ear to listen, an appetite for lunch, or a few jokes and laughs to share, get you some NEW FRIENDS.
