You probably thought I would say, “An Honest Talk With The Eternal, but in this case, It hasn’t happened yet. Prior to a real conversation with the Eternal, is a honest conversation with the Internal. Actually, consulting with the Eternal will inform the internal, but ride with me on this one for a bit.
This is a conversation that you are allowed to eavesdrop in on. If ever you had a desire to be nosey, here is your chance. This is the first time in history that you have ever been able to hear a man’s thoughts within himself in real time.
It’s almost something that comes out of a Gangster movie. A man finds himself in dark, dismal, dangerous, and depressing place, with no way out. There is a knock at the door. The door is actually his mind and heart. When he goes to open up the door, he sees himself. The only difference is that the man knocking is well-groomed, intelligent, and prosperous.
“Who is it? He asks. The voice from the other side of the door says, “Another fine mess
You have gotten us in, open the door!”
This is what it looks like when you come to yourself. All of us have had the pleasure of a visit by the INTERNAL YOU or common sense side of you. Common sense walks in like a Baltimore pimp slowly and methodically trying to figure out if you have placed a death wish on your own head. He tells you to fix him a drink. “You are on the wrong side of town, making all the wrong decisions,” he screams!! As he takes the first sip and turns toward himself, he says, “Look at you, (insert your name)!! You left all that for this? I’m tired of saving you, this is the last time!! Do you hear me? Pack your things, let’s go home!! Internal You finishes off the last swallow of reality, slams the glass down, and walks out leaving the door open.
My question is, what are you going to to?
I offer these words of advice: when Internal You shows up,
1. Let him in
2. Listen
3. Leave with him
THE INTERNAL IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS ABILITY TO STAY BEFORE THE ETERNAL!!
All I can say is OMGISH! So powerful. This really make you think. I think this one is the best thus far. So thought provoking. Thank you Pastor Wilford

I had to read this again! This is such a great metaphor and an honest and vulnerable portrayal of the battle we all face with our flesh! Great job!
